Sadleir Drama Club

A Brief History of the Club

The two villages of Standon and Puckeridge in East Hertfordshire, UK, have been the home of the Sadleir Drama Club since it was formed in 1944 when a group of enthusiasts presented three one-act plays in Standon Village Hall. The Club has continued to stage two productions each year and still uses the Village Hall for both rehearsals and productions.

The club strives to achieve a high standard of production over a wide range of plays including some that have been written and adapted for the purpose. In 2001 it was proud to present The Rake's Relapse, and adaptation of a play written by John Crowe at the end of the 17th century. A World Premiere as there is no record of this play being performed!

The purpose of this website is to promote the activities of the Sadleir Drama Club and to provide a source of information of the Club's activities for members and the general public.
